This is the first post destined to be one in a hundred posts...hopefully.

If you haven't already been to the 'About' tab and read about me, my name is Alija. I'm THAT artsy fartsy girl. I am that girl that if you go out in public with me (it doesn't really matter where) I will find something that will spark my creative interest and I will almost always loudly point out what I've just discovered. It goes something along the lines of..'Ooo look! Oh my gosh look at this! Quick look!' Que the long art/design rant that goes off into many different tangents.
Also here's a visual collage representation of me:
There's a ton more photos I could put here, maybe I'll take my own photos and put them in sometime soon in the future...but in the meantime these will do (thanks Pinterest;). Basically I am a tea drinking, plant loving and creative enthusiast. I have a collection of plants (as do my parents) that are slowly but surely making the backyard and the house into pleasant little jungle spots. In fact I just bought another plant from the garden centre at Bunnings about two days ago and so did my Nanna...needless to say, at the end of our little shopping spree we were met with eye rolling and 'tsk tsking' from my Dad haha.
My new little plant friend is a Syngonium and it seems to love it's little spot on the window sill (hopefully it doesn't change its mind). I was really tempted to purchase a very large and a little bit pricey Monstera plant from Bunnings (Monstera plants are my favourite) but my pocket said a fat no and so I just went with my little $3.00 Syngonium baby.
On the topic of plants, I also wanted to mention that I love my tea. Everyone who knows me knows that I love drinking tea. I start every morning with a cup of Earl Grey and some breakfast. Everytime I visit the Sunshine Plaza I also visit T2 and admire their very wide range and assortment of tea, tea pots, mugs, jugs and water bottle flasks. Drinking some tea, while listening to 'The Oh Hellos' and painting is the best thing.
Of course I can't forget the reason why I started this whole thing. Yes I am an artist and I love to paint, draw, and create anything I feel inspired to. The name of this blog 'The Fat Crayon Blog' is from my little Facebook 'business' (if that's what we're calling it), called 'The Fat Crayon.' I know, amazing right? I added a 'blog' on the end and its almost indistinguishable from my Facebook platform name. Anyway, besides it's name, this blog is an attempt to display some of my creativity and processes behind my artworks and perhaps a chance for me to connect to some of my followers on Facebook. I hope this blog sparks some creativity and inspiration within everyone who reads it.
Until next time, Alija.
